The testcard seen for some days on the former CNBC-Tp at 13 east has ceased too.
The Hot Bird Club has ceased in alalogue too as it seems - the former RTL2-tp showed TV Bulgaria all wednesday. There have been some bits of a Eutelsat at variuos times on that tp.
Radio Caroline seems to have left astra - their subcarriers remained stumm this weekend. Rumors are Caroline will be back on AM. Turn to their website for more information.
Go east
13 degrees seems to loook for viewers moren and more in the eastern parts of europe. German RTL2 has been replaced by TV Bulgaria, including at least one radio station on 8.10. Its in Pal and not encryptetd - yet.
1 Mai - whats new, whats gone?
Nothing changed today on scandinavian satellites (all tetscards remained testcards). Minor changes on 13 east. CNBC has pleased cable companies and ceased in analogue on eutelsats cold duck. Another testcard on that position. Vox tp has shut down, no more testcard. The former RTL2-tp is used to broadcast an eutelsat promotion.
Good news for a change
Once in a lifetime there are good news again and people's interest win over money and shareholder value. Media Moloch Murdoch is not allowed to buy fottball club Manchester United. The minister in charge and the monopoly and mergers commission stated this might be negative for choice, viewers and puiblic interest. Right! Lets hope for a similar european rule for Canibal + and Co. Save our recreation.
Lesser choice ...
Again less choice for satellite dish owners. RTL2, Vox, Euronews and Fashion have left 13 degrees east in analogue. So if dishers want to watch these programs they have to go for the lesser quality of digital transmission - and to submit to the overall control of national governments and canibal + & Co. Brave new media world.

Eutelsat voiceless
Eutelsats Cold Duck Position has lost another pack of stations. As of today (15. march) german broadcaster Vox has left 13 East analogue - replaced by a Usingen tescard. Both radio stations have ceased too, now only on astra. Since CNBC is to leave very soon, the only question remaining is: When will the Vivas leave? Eutelsat had no interest, to support direct to home receiption, they prefferred to team up with cable companies. So thats what they got. Suits you!!!

Radio Caroline Fans are in for a surprise! Sunday March 28th Caroline is going to broadcast special programs for their 34th birthday all over this world. Starting at 6:00 GMT Jonny Walker will be on air - via Satellite and Shortwave! Listeners in Europe turn to the merlin tp 50 on Astra: 7,38&7.56 MHz.
Stuart Russel will take over at 9:30 and go until 11:00 GMT.
Premiere & DF1 eventually joined in holy moneymonie?
It has been an impossible sitiuation. Two separate pay-tvs in germany, and two trusts were involved. Thank god this will come to an end and the mediamonopoly completes. Canibal Plus Deutschland (Bertelsmann) will degrease their share in premiere, to concentrate on their global internet business. The Bertelsmann share in Premiere is likely to go to Kirch-Group - who own and operate the df1 digital package and teleclub swizerland - apart from beeing part of the premiere trust. So finally all pay-tv german viewers in speaking countries are allowed to subscribe for, are joined together under one ownership. EU politcians can be very happy and proud. One more successful step on the way to the european Mediamegamonopol done.
No news at 10, but news at ten
The new ITN conglomerate of big business (former known as Independent Television Network), the former network of indendent owned and operated small and medium tv stations, has announced to stop their wellknown news program "news at ten". The program will be on air for the last time on friday, march 5th. (ITN will use that spot for more massmarket oriented programs.) But on monday, march 8th Sky News will start their new "flagship"-news magazine: Sky News at Ten.
Viewers on the continent thereby will be able to watch a sort of "news of the day" as seen from the british perspective. One looses, one wins ...
Viasat Sport
As announced earlier Viasat Sport has started on 1 March. Scandinavians with viasat viewing cards turn to the former Sci Fi Channel tp which BBC World have left. Viasat sport broadcasts golf and soccer - in D2-MAC/eurocrypt.
